Bollywood actresses flying down to Tollywood to shake a leg in an item song is nothing new. The likes of Malaika Arora Khan, Yana Gupta, Kashmira Shah and even Deepika Padukone (in "Love 4 Ever") have all been tempted by the Telugu industry's fat pay cheques.
According to reliable industry sources, Malaika was paid `50 lakh for her number with Mahesh Babu and Yana `30 lakh for her item with Chiranjeevi.
Now the latest to jump onto the item song bandwagon is British model and Bollywood actress Aruna Shields, who is all set to sizzle on screen with Naga Chaitanya in his upcoming film "Dhada". "The song will be canned tomorrow on a special set erected at Annapurna Studios," confirms film producer D Sivaprasad Reddy.
Talking to Hyderabad Times, he said, "We were thinking of adding an item song to the film and we were looking for a new face. Aruna fits the bill and when we approached her for the song, she readily accepted." Sivaprasad wouldn't divulge more details but said, "Prem Rakshit is the choreographer and the song is a regular commercial song."
In this film that is set to hit the marquee in August, Kajal Agarwal plays the female lead opposite Naga Chaitanya.
