After almost a decade in the South, Charmee will now make her B-town debut with none other than Amitabh Bachchan in his latest flick.
The 23-year-old is visibly excited while talking about her experience with Big B. "Working with him was one of the most memorable moments in my whole career. I couldn't have asked for a better debut. He's such a humble person. I have never met anyone who is so grounded," she says.
In the film, Charmee plays the role of a happy-go-lucky college girl, who is Amitabh's friend. "I had to refer to Amitji as Viju (his character) and call him by his name. We had to have this chilled-out chemistry that two pals would share. He made me feel totally at ease," she says.
So, what was the first day of shoot like? "I was very nervous. Before we canned the first shot, Amitji asked me if we could rehearse the shot. He's the kind of actor who makes sure everyone who is doing the scene with him is comfortable, which is why everyone respects him so much," reveals the actress. Ask her if she picked up tips from the legendary actor and she says with grace, "Amitabh is someone who respects his fellow artistes. Once he is convinced that his co-actor is doing a good job, he just lets them do their own thing.
Charmee relates an experience on the set that she finds unforgettable. "Both Puri Jagannath (the director) and I used to converse in Telugu. Amitabh used to say, 'No regionalism on the sets please. You guys must speak in Hindi.' However, we used to unconsciously switch to Telugu," she laughs and adds that she can't wait for the film to release.
